7 Y i .f , MAXCKI NICLAUGHLIN M UNOZ Fullback End Guard Followed to Houston by practically the entire student body a scintillating galaxy of SaraHny's stars trampled the Rice Owls by a score of 20 to 7. Al- though Meagher's Feathered Tribe put up a fierce fight they proved no match for the powerful Saint offensive led by Jansing. The great half, for the second time in as many years, ripped the Owl forward wall wide open in pile driving fashion. It was only an ever fighting Meaglier team and the spectacular play- ing of Bush Jones, Rice guard and All Southwest Conference selection, that prevented the Saints from piling up a larger score. All hopes for the Texas Conference gonfalon went haywire on Armistice Day when a hghting swarm of Howard Payne Yellow Jackets dealt the Saints the stinging defeat of 21 to 7. The big guns of the Blue and Gold opened up early in the game but were soon silenced by a Jacket team inspired by a huge Horne- coming Day crowd. . l Fiuscn JANSING KIVLIN Emi Hab' back Quarterback Saints proved their superiority over the Pirate crew in every department of the game. Jansing and Parma reeled off the most sensational runs for the Saint offense while Allen proved himself a star for the opposition. Southwestern's lone counter came during the third quarter after Saraliny had replaced his entire Varsity with reserves. V I The Daniel Baker Hill Billies upset every dope bucket in the state when they held the fighting Saints to a scoreless tie, Oct. 25, in Brownwood. The St. Ed's gridsters completly outclassed the Brownwood aggregation in number of first downs and gained 220 yards from scrimmage to their opponents' 128 but lacked the necessary punch when it was needed. In holding Sarafiny's scoring Saints to a scoreless tie the Hill' Billy team displayed a great brand of football and were justly lauded by sport writers. ELEC r PARMA RANSOM ROUGEAUX Halfback Halfback Guard In a game marred by frequent fumbles a rather off-form Saint eleven boosted itself in Conference standing by defeating the Trinity University Tigers 7 to 2. Playing in Trinity's territory, the greater part of the game, the Saints made re- peated marches on the Tiger goal but fumbled almost every time after approach- ing under the shadow of the goal posts. The Hilltopper gains came after Farr, Hertenberger, and Frisch, Saint linemen deluxe, had opened gaping holes in the Trinity forward wall. Ransom started the St. Ed's-Simmons grid classic off right by snatching the opening kickoff and racing 95 yards through the entire Cowboy team for the first Saint marker. Again in the last minute of the tilt, Figari, elusive Saint co-captain, -grabbed a punt and plowed through the Cowhands for another touchdown which netted the Saraflnians a 13 to 0 victory.
