St. Edward High School Already well known for its fine conceit musicianship and precision marching, the 100-piece St. Edward High School Band journeyed to Chicago last August and, under the direction of Brother Leonard Leary, C. S. C. , took first place awards in the Cliicagolanri Music- Festival and the Riverview Tournament of Music. St. Edward football fans will remember the Band for its stirring half-time shows at this season's games. Equally memorable was the fall Pop Cont-tr 1, under Brother Leonard's direction which featured the two contest-winning numbers. Although all deeply regret the absence of Broth tlli i.ef,.f11ii-fi from the faculty this semester, the new director, Brother Robert Siegel, C. S. C. , has dire f-v-1 1 an 132ml in well-received concerts at Magnificat High School and in the Band Festival at John Carroll lH1m'e1:':,.:iij-1. As a finale to the '57 -'58 comiert season, the ilznz-,E tg iittaf rented its third concert under Brother Robert on May 4, 5, 6 as the first half of Rendezvous with l?h7,fvhiu, mis year's spring musical presentation which combined the Concert Band and Tune Time 'F8.
