S. C. , took first place awards in the Cliicagolanri Music- Festival and the Riverview Tournament of Music. St. Edward football fans will remember the Band for its stirring half-time shows at this season's games. Equally memorable was the fall Pop Cont-tr 1, under Brother Leonard's direction which featured the two contest-winning numbers. BASKETBALL Tall, lanky Pat Kennedy, captain of the St Edward Varsity Basketball Team, led the Eagles in a season characterized by many thrilling victories The St Edward spirit, manifested by humility in victory and courage in the face of odds, was apparent throughout the year The staunch St Edward fans are to be commended for their encouragement and unswerving loyalty to their team Their devotlon was well rewarded 1n the game with Cathedral Latin when, with a tied the winning points that brought the tense crowd roaring to its feet A comparable measure of thrills was experienced again in the tournament game with Lakewood High School at Baldwin Wallace College Once again the Eagles surged ahead in the final seconds of play to win by a one point margin The record of splendid performances by the Junior Varsity and Freshman teams g1ves promis continued glories for St. Edward in basketball score, the game plunged into a sudden death overtime.
