In the second game ol' the year, the yearlings did not fare so well: they dropped a 25-0 game to Batavia. ln the third game. St. Edward, led by Gharles Serota, came out ahead. lil-0. over Round Lake. One touelulown was the deciding factor in a closely-fought game. Round Lake recovered a fumble late in the last half, and a few plays later streaked sixty yards to hand the varsity a 6-0 defeat. In the Maryville game, jim Lehman scored two touchdowns in the first half to give St. Ed's their first win of the season against a higher rated team. The score was l3-6. An 80-yard pass play by St. Mary in the final quarter wasn't enough to overcome the Green VVave. Lehman scored the first touchdown and extra points just before the end of the first half. Sullivan scored the second touchdown on a pass play, and Lehman's extra point was good. XVoodstock's only score was an 80-yard touchdown pass. St. Ed's lost the first conference game to St. Procopius by l3-7. Lehman scored the only touchdown. Costly fumbles and poor defense was the difference in this game. 59 . . . eing en Q, I N Clllldx K1ll'lIl'I'. zum-Q HZIIIII.
