Life Is Our College: May We Graduate With Honors Twenty-Four Seniors Receive Diplomas A large attendance filled the high school gymnasium Sunday, May 14. The occassion being Graduation for 24 SEHS seniors. Leading the Seniors to their final event of their high school days were juniors - Mary Lloyd and Keith Nordeen. The Seniors made their dignified entrance wearing caps and gowns in their class colors purple and white. The high school band played the processional and recessional with the invocation and benediction by Rev. Cecil Green. Music was provided by the high school choir, Swing Choir and the graduating Seniors. The songs were ' 'Movin' On'' and ' 'Time Is My Friend.'' The Seniors made the final presentation by singing '' Circles.'' Brad Williams, Russ Rimovsky, Steve Thompson and Joe Meridith sang the verses, with the whole class joining in on the chorus. This year's speakers were Jo Afrank, telling everyone about the happenings of this year's Seniors over the past 13 years. She was followed by Scott Green with his idea of the future for graduates. The presentation of the class was by Superintendent Frank Williams with diplomas being presented by School Board member, Eugene Jensen. Principal Bill Sillau then made presentation of scholarships and awards. 10

Seniors Have ' 'Kansas City here we come'' was a thought that ran through the Seniors' heads as they prepared for their Sneakday trip. Last minute money making projects and the School Board's decision allowed the Seniors of '78 to go to Kansas City, Missouri for their sneakday. A chartered bus arrived in St. Ed at 3:00 a.m. Friday, April 14. And off they were! Arriving at the Holiday Inn in Kansas City around 10:00 a.m. found everyone heading for the swimming pool. The Seniors spent the day playing games, eating, and trying to get rested up for big night ahead. That night, the Seniors went to World's of Fun where they stayed till midnight. Then it was back to the hotel for a goodnight's sleep. Friday morning they checked out of the hotel and headed back to World's of Fun. The first event of the day saw the whole Senior Class heading for the bumper cars, where they were allowed to go as a class and battle out their years of frustration on each other. The class then went their own way. Trying out the rides for the first time brought fear, smiles, tears, excitement to many faces. The day ended at 6:00 p.m. where everyone loaded up and got settled for a long ride home. Arriving home at about 2:00 a.m. April 16 found the Seniors tired but still smiling. Inspite of the rain, the two days spent as a class could never have been more fulfilling. Sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Meyer, Miss Terri Collins, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thompson accompanied the Seniors and added a little extra zip to the trip. The Sneakday trip could be quoted as a ' 'Zambeeze Zinger'' of a time ! . . m
