Annual Staff Many long hours were spent planning layouts, editing copy, taking pictures, and gathering new ideas to make this year's yearbook different from the others. Student Council Is Involved in Various Activities This year the Student Council included representatives from the Jr. High. The club sponsored the pop machine in the commons area. The St. Edward American Legion Auxiliary gave the school an American flag and President Rick Schack accepted it. The Student Council also hired the senior Home Ec. girls to make conference banners for the new gym. The banners were presented to the Student Council on awards day. The officers were: President, Rick Schack; Vice-President, Rob Evans; Secretary, Julie Kiesling; Treasurer, Rex Mahoney; News Reporter, Denise Miller. The Student Council also sponsored the Snowball Dance on December 16th featuring the band Whale . The club gave cash prizes for float and banner winners at Homecoming. 28 Activities

A day in VOCAL MUSIC??? Jensen, C. Rosane, C. Cumming Music The music department held a Christmas program on December 14th, 1973. This program featured the high school girls glee, swing choir, and various small ensembles, all under the direction of Mrs. Carla Bartel. On Friday, May 18th the jr. high and senior high vocal music groups had their spring concert. Performing were the jr. high swing choir, the high school girls' glee and mixed chorus with swing choir, solos and small groups which had participated at district contest. Due to the lack of members, a boys' glee was not organized but all of the boys participated in the mixed chorus. Those boys who were in this but not swing choir were Rex Mahoney, Kevin Arlt, Rick Mahoney, and Ron Parry. District Music Contest was held at Platte College on April 26, 27, and 28. The following ratings were received by the vocal groups and solos: Superior--Carmen Rosane, solo; Dave Williams, solo. Excellent—Kathy Flaherty, solo; Kathy Franks £ Nancy Carlson, duet; Kathy Flaherty £ Julie Kiesling, duet; swing choir; girls' glee. Good— Sonja Jensen, solo; Carol Cumming, solo; Terri Werts, solo; Mary Engstrom £ Joetta Werts, duet. 30 Activities
