It Was Only Make Believe Perhaps in the not too far distant future our high school days will seem like they were only Make Believe just dreams Well every one knows that the past four were and could only be reality Four years filled to capacity with many wonderful things to remember Perhaps our Mothers and Fathers have felt that at times we were living in a dream world True at times we were too wrapped up rn the affairs of our bustling world to heed words of advice little suggestions or even perform little tasks without complaint Now we must turn from this dwindling vision of youth We must point our little ships in the right direction in this the sometimes stormy sea of life As we travel o er life s pathways we will undoubtedly encounter numerous experiences we shall wish to relive Countless footsteps we will probably wish to retrace Wouldn t it be fun before we leave our youth completely to do one more thing that only youth is capable of Make Believe' Let s turn the pages of time glance into the crystal clearness of a magic mirror and visualize the small but mighty Class of 1958 in 1968 Margie Adams is now running the Crunchy Dill Pickle Factory She first con ceived the idea when her husband left her for another Her greatest difficulty is that she eats up all the profits Remember Dana Anderson s beautifully combed ha1r'? Well you will never believe this but he simply hasn t any He is still doing a rather prosperous business with his motorcycle repair shop Norman Berggren hasn t changed too much Mr Berggren is in the Real Estate Business in Siberia Barbara Bryan whom we all thought would become a genius in the scientific field fooled us completely Barbara is an instructor at a riding academy for boys Janet Clark is running the Capitol in Lincoln this year She always did have 1n1t1a tive She now has the building painted a lovely Chartreuse with pink and purple stripes The purple predominating of course I m sure you have all heard of the wonderful achievements which Lanny Fisher has made with his great writing ability. One of his outstanding literary accomplishments is the Lanny Lane. column which he now edits for the World Herald. Phyllis Fonda majored in Math at the U. of N. She is now head of a numbers game in Mexico. Yes Phyllis alias Diamond Phyll is quite successful. Mike Lyons is now a renowned baby photographer in Hollywood. Bill Moran is raising an octopus on Catalina Island. Naturally the isle is inhabited with things other than Bill and the octopus. Cleo Goodman is the only lady who owns and operates a nonstop rocketship to the moon. She has only made one trip---and hasn t arrived home yet. President of the famous Bachelors Club Inc. of New York City is Earl Novotny. Earl s Club is quite successful. However the members come and go very frequently. Alaska can be very proud of its citizens. Kathleen Sawyer owns one of the worlds largest spinach ranches right in the midst of this spacious state. Kathleen Thomazin has become a designer of men s apparel. Her fashion shows on Mars are quite successful---since that lush planet is inhabited only by women. The noted Bachelor Girl of Hollywood, Annie Werts is now on location in Antartica. The name of the movie she is now making is called The Men in My Life. Then of course, everyone is so happy about Marion Merrell being voted Mrs. America of 1968. Her husband is of course very proud of her. But, to say the least, he was quite shocked. He didn't even know she could cook. 12 CLASS PROPHECY . . .
