It is in this year we realize that soon we must make a decision as to the place in the world we shall occupy-the place in which we shall strive for our eternal salvation. During this year the seniors have taken numerous steps in preparing for the life that lies ahead. Our whole education has been permeated with plans for the future. Joys, problems, and activities have accompanied the senior year. Our activities have taken on a different aspect as we realize that now we must do things with the maturity of young women. Careful planning accompanied each activ- ity. On the night of October 'I9 at Flag Pole Hill we enjoyed a wiener roast-the first activity of the year. The first dance of the year, The Harvest Hop, followed on November 2l as our second activity. Then came the event we planned with all the care we could muster, the Annual Talent Show, held in Holy Trinity Hall on December 8. Shortly afterwards, we began making arrangements for a reception honoring our parents held in the convent on January 24. On May 6, the seniors participated in a style show sponsored by Adelayde Wright through the Alumnae. The last month was indeed a busy one, filled with many parties and other activities. Among these were the luncheon given by the Alumnae on May 23, Baccalaureate Sunday on May 24, and the long-awaited day of Graduation on May 28. All the activities were unusually successful. But, of course, the most important events of the year were the spiritual activities. We had our Senior retreat on April 2, 3, and 4 at Our Lady of Victory College. Father Weber was our retreat master-and it is certain that no one else could have done the job better. Another spiritual event was the May procession in honor of Our Lady held on May 3. For it is in this year thata grammar student must adjust himself to an entirely different curriculum. He must step out of the role of a child and take on the responsibilities of a high school stu- dent. This is exactly what this year's freshman class has done. They have shown themselves capable to take on any proiect and make it successful Proof of this can be seen In their many activities of the year The first of these activities was a Christmas party gnven In the freshmen home room A week before the Carol nn Bemt Lupita Casares '-np. Frances Ann Cash Patsy Anne Clare Erin Corbett party, names were drawn to provide everyone with a present. The decorations in the room were colorful . The tree was also beautifully decorated. The next of the freshmen activities was a Valen- tine dance given on February 7th in the Church Hall. This was one of the most successful dances of the school year. Along Came Harriet was enacted by fresh- men. March T7 was the date of this little show. Also this was the date they chose to entertain the eighth grade girls from all the Catholic grammar schools, many games with prizes were on the agenda of events This closed the actlvltles for the freshmen but their eyes are to the future, their sophomore year Jacquelon Jackson -..w Antoinette Marie Interrante Catherine Mary Jurgel la Carolyn Mane Knickerbocker Jane Frances Lmdemann Lllllan Elizabeth Kuchar Imogene Mary Lucian 25 . . . . 1 ,, , . .
