The telltale Newsday. Richard Weiler and Michael Devlin skipped a page! Kevin Wood argued with Mr. Reffelt in World History and he's still arguing two years later in Economics. HI TORY The aim of the history department is to produce a well-informed responsi- ble citizenry. To accomplish this, the curriculum provides courses for each of the four years of high school. As freshmen, the students become aware of foreign lands and peoples in their study of World Geography. As sophomores, World History introduces them to the cradle of civili- zation. Then, the best of all nations enthralls them as they arrive in the third year to the study of American History. Fourth year, students ponder the theory of economics and the problems which they will encounter in the near future. Economically speaking . . says Sister Cornelian. --

Mr. Stirbis shows slides of his four year stay in Switzer- land. One of the mountain passes was foo much for me, he said, as he reminisced about his skiing accident. 90 French, one of the most lyrical of languages, is a favorite subject among the students. Under the tutelage of Sister Raphael, Sister Margery, and Mr. Stirbis, 'iles eleves learn to appreciate not only the euphony of the language, but also the culture of the people and the beauty of France. Who amongst us will ever for- get the sagacity of the fables of Fontaine or the excitement of the adventure stories of Dumas? Who could fail to appreciate the intricate lacework of the Eiffel Tower or the majestic grandeur of the Arc de Triumph?
