Freshman year brings the mechanics of grammar and the use of the library to the students. Silas Marner, the unfortunate miser, captures the in- terest ofthe Sophomores, as they delve more into literature. Junior year brings preparation for English Regents. A thorough study of grammar, vocabulary, literature, reading comprehension, and compositions satiate these classes. Finally Senior year, with its study of English literature, acquaints the students with Beowulf, and Shalicspeards Macbeth.
