Since the beginning of recorded history, and even before, man has striven to acquire knowledge that would enable him to lead a well-ordered life. In the 1958 Stella Maris we have attempted to show the progress made by man since the days of the cave man. We follow man through the advanced civilizations of Greece and Rome, through the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Industrial Revolution and, finally, the present Atomic Age. Man is now experiencing his crucial hour. He has overcome the barrier of ignorance, time and space.
