Among the many aims of THE STUDENTS' PEN is the training of future writers of Our generation. The knowledge acquired through participation in high school journalism is not only that of the mechanics of newspaper work, but also a greater comprehension of the influence and power wielded by the press. Thus, the newspaper's far-reaching effects indicate the im- portance of publishing the truth. The misunderstanding arising in the world to- day between nations can be eradicated by setting forth in our newspapers and periodicals the democratic way of life, based on C0d's com- mands to man. We will attain an increased un- derstanding and respect for others, and in turn, others will learn to understand and respect us, if we lay down the sword of dissension and take up the pen of integrity.
