Sgt SDP V WH UH ft x '53 S ig U R BASEBALL 1941 1942 Ours Thelrs St Paul St Peter St Peter s Alumm St Mary s Alumm S H Alumnl 7 Cardrnals In the fall of 1943 a fme set of boys began collect1ng old helmets and hip pads they chxpped mn for mmlmum equxpment and before anyone else suspected rt they had eleven men 1n the fleld St Dom s f1rst football team had yust been organxzed Thelr fme spmt and achxevements on the gr1d1ron won the adm1rat1on of Mr Albert Wlseman manager of the famous Lewlston Wxtches He donated to the school all that was left of the football equlpment used by hrs former team That went a good way ln procunng the costly gears necessary for that sport Le Montagnard contnbuted a smart set of yerseys showmg the name of the school Wxth the 1945 season St Dom graduated mto the semor cxrcult of hlgh school baseball From the headllnes of the local papers ard tl e core table 1t IS clear that we are makmg the grade wlth honor If we conslder the enrollment of our school and the d1srupt1ng effect of the natxon s war effort on hlgh school athletrcs thls fact xs hlghly s1gn1t1cant It ns vue be l1eve the result of good coachlng there xs no doubt about rt but also of the wonderful f1ght1ng spxrxt whlch our young athletes have developed rn the cheerful atmosphere of thelr school All those who contribute to the support of St Dom w1ll be gratxfled wlth the boys success and they w1ll come out and cheer the team to vxctory
