resent us at the Federat1on of Cathollc Alumnae Conference held 111 Hershey Pa She attended It at the cost of much personal mconvenl ence we know and brought back an 1nsp1r1ng report Among the recommendatlons made was that we present a book to the Autographed Book Collectlon at Slsters College CathO11C Un1 vers1ty of Amerlca Our selectlon was blovenske rehole v Amerlke whlch Dr Hrusovsky graclously autographed for us M1 s M1hal1k has also been appomted to serve as chalrman of the Luncheon Commlttee for our flrst Home Comlng Day October 6 1956 The cholce of the other members IS left to the chalrman Before launchmg 1nto plans for the Home Com1ng Day I should l1ke to tell you about the receptlon of 33 sen1ors 1nto the Alumnae Assoc1at1on the afternoon of the 15th The ceremony was held as usual 1n the aud1tor1um 1n the presence of the faculty the student body and many guests Among the latter were seven alumnae The offlcers preslded I'eC9lVlIlg the semors pledges of loyalty and welcom 1ng them 1nto the Assoc1at1on A speclal feature on the recept1on program was a plano con cert presented by Glorla Fendrlck 54 now a mus1c major at Mary wood College Qcranton Pa Wlth her was Mlss Annette Klta a frlend and classmate who played the clarmet Both glrls showed great talent and sk1ll and dehghted us w1th thelr fme selectlons They surely must have been an 1nsp1rat1on to the young muslclans ln the audlence The alumnae afterwards entertamed the new members at a soc1al held 1n the recreatlon room Around the punch bowl we made new frlends Whlle munchlng cookies rozkg. torta and an assort ment of t1d b1tS l1ke popcorn and nuts As we W1Sh6d to make the occaslon as memorable as posslble we presented each senxor w1th a colorful nosegay as a concrete souvenxr from her b1g sxsters Judg 1ng from the general satlsfactlon dlsplayed and expressed I would ay A good t1me was had by all And now back to the Home Comlng A tentatlve program has been drawn up as follows 9 00 Holy Mass Breakfast 10 30 Lecture Subject The Chlld and the Testmg Program 1 00 Luncheon 0 00 Benedlctlon and Rosary QF1rst Saturday! 3 30 Tour of New Wmg V1s1t to Nov1t1ate 6 00 Buffet Supper 4 0 Socxal 91 h , .
