Qulte the contrary He IS very close to us H1s mother l1ves here 1n our town H1s brothers and s1sters attended St Huberts School on Bloom Road And two of h1s brothers are mar r1ed to alumnae of our Academy H1s Excellency The Most Reverend Lawrence F Schott DD though Ph1ladelph1a born grew up 1n Danv1lle He offered h1s flrst Mass 1n St Huberts Church More than once we students had the good fortune to see h1m among the clergy present at some funct1on here at the Academy Only last January we had the pr1v1lege of hear mg one of hlS 1nsp1r1ng sermons at the clos1ng of the Forty Hours Devotlon H1s Excellency then IS no stranger to us And now by the grace of God and the dec1s1on of H1s Holmess Pope P1us XII the erstwh1le Danv1lle boy 1S the Auxlhary of Harr1s burg and T1tular B1ShOp of Eluza 1n As1a MIHOF The appomtment shows how phenomenally our d1ocese has grovun Wlthln the last dec ade In our deanery alone three new parochlal schools were opened last September and at present a new par1sh IS be1ng organlzed There IS growth everywhere Wc share the Joy of H1s Excellency our Most Reverend B1Sh0p and ever k1ndly Father that he w1ll now be ass1sted 1n h1S arduous task of d1rect1ng the progress of Chr1sts K1ngdom 1n the Harrlsburg d1OC8S9 and that h1s burden of adm1n1strat1on w1ll now be l1ghtened Ordamed 1n 1935 our new Aux1l1ary B1shop has long been known throughout the d1OC6S6 and beyond lt by reason of the many 1mDortant posts he has held I'I1S most notable work has been among college and un1vers1ty students as It was among army men dur1ng the war H1s Excellencys consecrat1on on May 1 the f1rst 1n the Har rlsburg cathedral was wltnessed by the whole d1ocese 1f not actually at least on telev1s1on Danv1lle set up spec1al apparatus to enable 1tS townsmen to get the channel that was te1ev1s1ng the ceremony W were duly lmpressed by the fact that here was hlstory 1n the mak1ng Our prayers for H1s Excellency were fervent as we prayed w1th the Church that both by word and by example he may ed1fy all those who are under h1s charge so that w1th the flock entrusted to h1m he may atta1n unto l1fe everlast1ng through Chrlst our Lord Amen Rlta Marmak 6 Steelton Pennsylvanla 87 Q . . g f .
