Msgr Andrew Grutka God has blessed Father for his twenty two years of humble living simple faith Christ IS always first 1n his life He lives for the Sacrifice of Christ and for His Gospel for his own people and for the world Mass and the administration of the Sacraments are of para mount importance 111 his life The sick are visited comforted and re membered in all parish devotions Office Hours? Yes schedules are made and every possible opportunity for spiritual growth provided for the people Yet 1f these cannot be met with each 1nd1v1dual ls free to call and make convenient arrangements according to his needs Feed my lambs Despite his heavy respons1b111at1es and 1n still holds a place dear to the heart of Father He IS their Shepherd they his lambs It IS h1S love for the poor that had made him one of the out standing priests IH the city of Gary He manifested this love when he opened wide the doors of his school to the Negro and the Mexican An educator at heart he spares nothing where the education of the children IS concerned His love for Lhrists little ones IS ex pressed on h1S countenance when he IS in their midst and they 1n turn surely sen in him another Christ and loving father H1s great learning and eloquence have found him addressing numerous gatherings and organizations Enthusiasm 1S the keynote of hlS success and the sparks that beam forth from It soon enliven even the most languid In a word all Fathers good works are summed up in his fre quently quoted statement We are here to serve the people not they A Parishioner 118 I , , . . . i v. .
