Acolyte attending Father Hawes is joseph Link '58. Many students went to Mass and Holy Communion throughout the week. Opening the week, a high Mass was held at noon for the entire school. A talk on teen-age delinquent prob- lems was given on Thursday by Alois Vogt, Dubuque probation officer. Special Spiritual Da 5 ':c:oi.l.lcczT1oN day was held Sept. 13. It was conducted by Father Thomas Car- pender, a Co-Duke graduate of 1949, shown in thc picture below. The pur- pose of this annual day at the beginning of the school year is to orientate every- one to the correct values a Catholic stu- dent should possess. Four conferences were given, and op- portunity was provided for spiritual read- ing and prayer. Rlc'I'lui.Ax'l' was held April 23-225. Another former St. Columbkiller, Father Norbert Sharon of the Nlisionary Servants of the Nlost Holy Trinity, conducted the exer- eises.
