The success of the football team of the past year can be attributed to fervent prayer, hard work, and an overwhelming desire to win the Championship. The boys, after coming so close the pre- vious year, resolved that they would not fail this year. With the knowledge imparted to us through our coaches, the inspired play and leadership of our co-captains, and the loyal support of our followers, we proceeded to clinch the Championship before the season had ended. St. Clement's not only won footballgames and the Division ll Championship but they also won new friends with their inspired brand of play. The team will long be remembered as the first Championship group in a long line of Champions to come. lwe hope, It was a determined team witha desire to carry out instructions, it displayed the ability of coming from behind to win. The suddeness with which their fleet-footed offensives struck and the durability of their hard-charging defenses was a tribute to our coaches. This year's team has brought Saint Clement's to new heights in the football world and we hope that itattainsan even more enviable position inthe league in the coming years. Next year's team has the responsibility of defending the Championship and keeping intact the undefeat- ed record of the past two years. It is up to them to build a good offense, a stubborn defense, and a competitive spiritso that we can keep the Championshipwhere it belongs, in Saint Clement's. by John Collings, Sports' Editor
