XIF SOUN IE Music for the Klng The reed organ in chapel had sung its last chord, For fifty years it had fulfilled its duties bravely. meeting all the exigencies of the moment. from sol- emn marches for feast days. to sad dirges for the departed. with its subdued but not unmelodious plaintive strains, And now. its successor had arrived: the pipe organ everyone had been looking forward to since the present chapel was built, but which had been considered as one of those vague possibilities best envisioned in a remote future-until three years ago. l-ast November, the hopes of all music lovers in our convent were realized, A small Casavant was to be installed. The little reed organ was definitely ushered out of its place. but the new organ was not so easily ushered into place. ln fact, it was quite a few days before we saw it as it stands now. 2:1 +R--
