School days, School days, good old golden rule days, reading and writing and arithmetic taught to the tune of the hickory stick. Yes, we were all glad to be back to see our dear old classmates and to be assigned to our new classes. lVednesday t11e 6t11. XVednesday brought us back eager to start a new school term. Friday the 8t11. Off we go to see the tigers. bears and races, and ride the merry-go-round. Yes, it is the Belmont County Fair back again. Week of the 1lt11. Tuesday the 12111. First Y-Teen meeting of the year. The new Y-Teen members were given big sisters to help them during the year. Friday the 15111. Red Devils defeated Pow- hatan in our first football game of the year. The boys have started off with flying colors. Week of the 18t11. Monday. Everyone looks especially nice to- day. The photographer was here to take class pictures. Monday, Tuesday, and lVedne.sday. Senior pictures were taken. Some of the seniors were so dressed up we didnit recognize them. Tuesday the 19t11. First Hi-Y meeting of the year. The Hi-Y has many things planned for this year which will be a help to the school. Friday t11e 221151. Red Devils tied Raruesville T-T in a thrilling game. XVeek of the 25111. The freshman football squad went to Steu- benville for their first game. Tuesday the 26111. The second Y-Teen meet- ing was a wiener roast held in the school ground. XVCCIIIUSIIIIU t11e 2Tt11. First Dramatics Club meeting of the year. The new advisor is Miss Miriam johnson. a graduate of Bowling Greene. Officers were elected at the first meeting and will preside the rest of the year. Friday f11e 29111. Football game with Lang- ley High. Our first defeat of the season. Saturday the 30111. The Hi-Y officers and Mr. Fry went to Oglebay to a conference. OCTOBER W'eek of the 211d. Monday the 211d. Freshman football game with Rarnesville. Wednesday the 4111. A state patrolman. Fitzpatrick. presented to the student body a lecture on driving. Also a movie was shown concerning good and bad driving habits. After school the Thespians held their second meeting :if the year. Friday the 6111. Red Devils were defeated by the Linsley Cadets but we werenit discourag- ed. The student body helped the team by keep- ing the boys in high spirit. Saturday the 7111. Our band went to the Ohio State Came at Columbus. Ohio State whip- ped Pitt. Hurrayll Hurrayll lVeek of the 9111. Aflllllfllij. Today began exam week and this meant cramming for the ones who didnit study. lt was hard to believe but the first six weeks are almost over. Tuesday the 10111. Y-Teen Formal Initiation at which all new members were declared Y-Teens. Nlothers of all the Y-Teens were guests at the meeting and later were served refreshments. Friday the 13111.
