We are indeed fortunate in having a group of men who understand the changing needs and circumstances of the school, and we wish to express our gratitude to them for their constant efforts and support. ' 'D' . With the passing of Attorney Martin L. Cowen, for several years a member of the Board, the St. Clairsville school lost a most interested friend and staunch supporter. Schi-Schan - 20 l f In our play, The History of the Class ot l946 , we have just completed the second act. During our first act we were very excited and giddy over having finally entered high school. Did we receive the full wrath of the Sophies!! After being ofticially installed we chose Bliss Bumgarner as our president. Now the second act of the play carries us through our Sophomore year. Here we achieved poise which made us capable of serving up initiations to the incoming Freshmen. For our president this year we chose Frank Dopkiss. Much to everyone's satisfaction we had a class party, at which time we Sophomores all turned out for a good time in the gym. We still have two acts to this play, and also two more years to complete them in. So keep us in mind, for we are looking forward to the time when we reach the climax of our careers at St. C. High. Schi-Schan - 24 '11 Klan The curtain is iust going down on the third act of our play, The History of the Class of 1945. Our first act was very childish and flighty, having made our first appearance in styles copied from the Sophomores. Norman Greig was our leader then. Act two showed us planning our artistic touches on the new and timid Freshies. During this act we blossomed out and started on our own. We elected Harold Dailey as our President. Now finishing the third act, we feel more at home and more dignified. In this act we gave our annual prom, the event we really looked forward to. Did we have a good time!! This year we elected Don Couch as our President. We are looking forward to the fourth and last act of our History in which our most outstanding accomplishments will be remembered. Little did we know! ! We stood on the threshold of High School only to be pushed back out, we girls with lipstick smeared on our faces and we boys with our heads ducked under the pump. We chose green and white as our colors-very appro- priate, don't you think? And when we were Sophomores-Oh Joy! We returned the lipstick and water to the incoming incorrigibles. Then, our Sophomore party. We enioyed dancing to a luke box, playing Slapiack , and sipping cider through a straw. ' Then came the long awaited year of the Junior-Senior Prom. How pretty the girls were in their tormals, and the boys were really handsome. This also was the year we were proved actors and actresses-the Junior play Ghost Wanted. At last we are stately Seniors and have heard all the Moron jokes. Our play, One Mad Night , has given us many thrilling moments. This year we had a glorious time as guests of the Juniors-much obliged. We have come a long way from uncertainty to self-confidence, but the day has come when we go 'forth to seek our fortunes in the world. CLASS ADVISORS Miss srowe, Miss Nssslrr, MR. THE FIRST TEAM The First Team may be noted in the front row beginning with 32, left to right-Marshall, Diab, Gereg, Thomas, Spears, Kocsis, Turner, Couch, Stranges, Kanopsic, and Stettas. This was the most successful season that St. Clairsville has had since Foot- ball was revived several years ago. This yeor's team won all the nine games played. It was the first undefeated and untied team in the history of the school. Under the inspiring and capable direction of Coach Garda and Coach, Flowers the boys worked harder and harder as the season advanced. Enthusiasm and attendance of both students and adults mounted as the leather pigskins smashed against opposing teams. As a reward for their well earned distinction, the first team ancl two out- standing substitutes were presented with the cherished gold footballs. We know these will be a goal for future teams. Q Though a large percentage of this group will not be back next year, there will be enough to assure a good team who will be doing its best to extend the winnings further. Schi-Schan -- 40 l l Um foach.aA, TIGER FLOWERS and ED. GARDA Assistant Coach Coach With St. Clairsville going through the first undefeated and untied football season, a lot of credit must go to Ed. Garda and Tiger Flowers. These two iovial fellows seem to possess a magic touch with the boys. It takes two fellows ' with their caliber to mold real champions of the gridiron. The students will never forget the untiring efforts of these two, and will always give them their whole-hearted support. We trust that they will stay with St. Clairsville for many more successful football seasons. Sept. 17 ....,., b Sept. 24. Oct. 'I ....,.. Oct. 8 Oct. I 5 .......
