Signed and witnessed on this the 15th day of May in the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-nine. PRCJPHECY Here it is! The age of space and space travel has arrived. It is the year 1969 and men in their little space ships are rocketing to the moon, Mars, and Venus. Almost everyone has these new space ships, but Ed Denn is content to go on winning the Indianapolis 500 in his souped up blue Chevrolet. After he showed us his awards, Ed told us he had a letter from Boy Pemble who is teaching Agriculture at the University of Minnesota. He mentioned in his letter that Phillip Wingen had Just been elected Homecoming King at the University. We now board the spaceways plane and we are greeted by our charming stewardess, Catherine Kruse who has completed all her training, but soon the marines will be landing. Finally the plane a landing and we are met by Dave Juberian the greatest newspaper man in the Universe. He has to get his story and keep the press rolling. Dave gives us the address of Conley Wilder, president of Yo-Yos Incorporated. Conley is a very wealthy man, as Yo-Yos have become popular on the moon. We are asked to meet Conley's banker, and to our astonishment, it is Gary Fredrlckson. Gary has just returned from the stars where he visited a certain nurse. There are no more classmates in that city and we move farther north. By accident we stumble upon Dave Bestmann who ls busy sawing down a tree. David said he would like to do some traveling, but there 1sn't any demand for lumberjacks on the moon. Dave also tells us that Velma Loeffler doesn't live very far away, so we go to visit her. She finally decided which guy she is going to marry and is gradually settling down. There is a new type supermarket going up in this area and we find it is owned by Jean Hemshrot. We can't talk to Jean right now for she is busy in St. Clair with the Hemshrot spacemarket located beside the St. Clair School. However we meet the engineer of this project and she ls recognized as Karen Sharp, the first woman engineer to graduate from St. Clair High. We now travel to Springfield where we are greeted by Joni John- ston. She invites us for coffee and tells us that she married her Kenny after all. As we leave Springfield, we meet a space ship that has this sign on it: Have accordlan--Will travel--Mary Lea Sack. It is getting late at night and we meet a Ford Galaxy. We recognize the driver as Jerome Lang who is going to do some coon hunting. In the morning we stop at Le Center where Lorraine Splinter is living in a trailer house. Lorraine thinks she will move to outer space as the trailer is becoming quite crowded. We go on a little farther upstate and who should we come upon but Sandra Russell. Sandra is a successful artist and housewife. On the way back to St. Clair we meet Jim Hodapp in a '69 Ford and he tells us he still has his little black book. Living not far from St. Clair is Betty Schroeder. She is busy listening to the patter of little feet. Another happy housewife is Donna Harzinske. She has just become the proud mother of a baby girl. Her other five children are boys. Donna Denn has just finished her spring house cleaning and she is a spotless housekeeper. All these kids need teachers and Carol Frank is kept quite busy. But those years of home economics are not wasted. Our space bomb is having a little trouble and has to make a forced landing in a field. We find out that the field belongs to Harlan Witt, who raises the best crops in the state and ls thinking about starting to farm on Mars. Gerald Schull happens to be helping out Harlan that day but he tells us that he usually works for a guy named Herbie. We finally reach St. Clair where we leave out space bomb for repairs. We know it is in good hands as Boss Wilder is top mechanic at the St. Clair garage. Ross starts to tell us about his cousin Pat, but then he stops and says, 'oh everyone knows what she is do1ng.' We now go across the street and into the St. Clair State Bank where George Hubmer has just become president. It seems he is following in his grandfather's footsteps. We meet another member of the class of '59 in the bank. Marv Nicolai tells us that he 1s married and has taken over his fathers land company. Our space bomb is now repaired and we have no more seniors to look up, but we'll start again in '?9.
