A. 1981 brought the inauguration of Ronald Reagan serving as our 40th President. His first job as Presi- dent was to get the nation ' s economy straightened out. B. One of the hottest rock groups last year was AC DC. Some of their hit songs include “Back in Black and “Shook Me All Night Long . C. The new wave group Blondie hit it big last year with Call Me , the number one song of 1980. Deborah Harry, the group ' s lead singer, also starred in the movie Roadie. D. Nine to Five! This movie deals with three office workers (Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton) who try to get ahead in the busi- ness world. E. Terror Train is just one of the many horror movies that attracted crowds at the movie theatre. Other movies that were big are: Friday the 13th, Dressed to Kill, and My Bloody Valentine. F. 1980 also brought the death of John Lennon. Mr. Lennon was only 40 years old when he was mur- dered near his New York apartment. This year his album Double Fantasy and the single Starting Over hit number one on the record charts. G. After 63 weeks in captivity, the hostages were told that they were to be set free. Millions of Americans celebrated the hostages return home from Iranian seizure. H. One of the highest rated shows this past year was the episode that showed who shot J.R. Larry Hagman, who plays the nasty J.R. Ewing, receives $75,000 per Dallas episode, and is one of the highest paid T.V. stars today. L. Last, but not least. Miss Piggy shows off her new dress. She stars every week on the Muppet show. 4
