The Saints were coached by Ben Witukiewicz (SCAL Coach of the Year) with the help of Ken Semelsberger, defense coordinator. They worked the team hard trying to get that winning touch. They felt they had it made with the two PH transfers Ron Chisholm, Tail Back and Kevin Watson, Offen- sive Guard, Defensive Lineback- er, when they found a Quarter- back, Tom Hopper, they let him throw to Dave Liniarski a lot. This gave St. Clair the combina- tion for offense but they needed a defense too. For this he put Ken Semelsberger PH coach last A year, to work, slowly but surely the team developed. Later in the season they added an extra-point team with Jeff Shafran kicking. The Saints had six of the nine games at home and late in October they were 8-0, they had chance to go undefeated, this hadn ' t been done since 1946, but in Marysville the mighty fighting Saints were beaten by a score of 31-30. A. The Saints line deserves much credit but re- ceives little, here they are making a hole for a Saints touchdown. B. The team consisted of, bottom (left to right) Ron Gray, Shawn Fitzgerald, Bo Alley, Ed Pauly, Kevin Watson, Jeff (Chevy) Scheffler, Kevin Mahn, Rich Buslepp, and Jim Nel- B son. The vic- tories were good for St. Clair, but Dave Liniarski (32) had his best season, diving for touchdown passes that the SCAL talked about until the next game. D. KENT LEVITT 1962—1981 Throughout his years at St. Clair High, Kent par- ticipated in track, cross-country, band, and attended Campus Life meetings. He was a Boy Scout for two and a half years. The Boy Scouts ' major function is to make good of themselves so that others can look up to them and follow in their footsteps. Kent was a fine example of this as he was a good student and citizen. Kent planned on attending Graceland College in Iowa to attain his goal of becoming a minister. Kent enjoyed life. Surely we can all say that he was a wonderful person who will be missed by his fellow students, teachers, and those who associated with him. 1)4 St. Clair Dancers in Concert A. The 2 X A hour presentation included folk, jazz, ballet, modern, disco, tap, and mime dance forms. Each student was required to be in 2 dances for a final grade. Dancers then could have tried out for the other 28 dances. Mrs. Perret ' s art classes designed the program cover. Mrs. Tharrett ' s classes ran off tickets and programs. Some of our male students helped out with lighting and scenery. The dancers were excited about the concert. They found it ex- citing, challenging, and adventurous, as well as time consuming. Dancing is relaxing and a good way to exercise. He likes the cheap prices we have to offer, for ex- ample, Sweden pays $2.50 a gallon for gas. As a result of the strict gun control, Sweden is a safer place to dwell. The crime rate has been kept to a minimum. Torbjorn plans to go to a military school. He states that Sweden does not have alot of military strength and that is very uncomfortable with Russia at their back door. Torbjorn ' s favorite pastimes are swimming, fish- ing, and skiing. Their style of dress is different there because for- mal dress is unheard of. Abba, a popular group in Sweden is the number one money maker for that country, not cars. Torbjorn is staying with the Wells ' family. He said, After an enjoyable visit here he plans to re- turn soon. 118 United States Philippines Grace Tuzon, an exchange stu- dent from the Philippines, is enjoying her stay in America.
