There is always that certainfe ar of grades, but in the end we find we have received what we have earned. Our grades may be high or they may be low, but we thorough- ly appreciate the undying efforts of our teachers to install in us the desire to do our best. AND DELIGHTFULL MOMENTS OF IN THE YEARS TO COME Typical after-school hours find us injeans with our cokes, candy, and books. These are happy hours, and we will long remember the friends, fun, and frivolity of these times. Now that we have graduated and re ache d our various goals and left our books behind us, we can put our knowledge to use and find the success for which our teachers have prepared us. To one of our advisors we, the Senior Class, wish to express our sincere thanks and gratitude for her un- ceasing efforts in the past. She has helped us achieve our goal as students of Saint Clair High School. We are proud to dedicate this volume of the Clairian to Miss Anne J. Flaherty. To one of our advisors we, the Senior Class, wish to extend our appreci- ation for untiring and faithful efforts to make this book possible. His dependability and understanding have helped us a great deal. We proudly dedicate this volurne of the Clairian to Mr. Samuel C. Arnout. Wlwf SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS President .... . . Monica Pouchan Vice-President . .... Michael Botto Secretary . . . ............. John Schur Treasurer . .......... Emma Jean Honicker Advisors . . . . Anne J. Flaherty, Samuel C. Arnout SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We, the Senior Class, entered Saint Clair High School as sophomores in September of 1955, and found that there was a more serious part to school life--that of choosing a course that will carry us through life. In our sophomore year we held our first class meeting at which we elected officers and chose our colors, flower, and motto. The members of our class were now starting to participate in extra- curricular activities. During our junior year our greatest undertaking was the Junior Prom held May 26, 1957. The queen and king of the Prom were Judy Haverty and Peter Sekela. Our class held a peanut campaign and sold school jackets. Our s enior year marks the peak of our high school education. The memorable event was the Senior Hop held Thanksgiving night. Emma Jean Honicker and Ronald Schaefer were chosen as queen and king of the Hop. A magazine campaign was held to defray many expenses connected with graduation. We wish to thank our advisors, Miss Flaherty and Mr. Arnout, and all the faculty who helped make our education possible. Z0 f 7515 T 5 mf' R D X .x. 4. CLASS SONG TUNE: HE WORDS BY: JANICE JENNINGS When we say goodbye to all our classmates dear, All our teachers, friends, the things we hold so near Soon will be the memories that we'll recall Joys that we have shared as all the years went by, Since our school days now are ending Saint Clair High, We will bid farewell with a sad parting sigh, Oh, our Alma Mater dear, our thoughts will be always of you, always of you. We are grateful to our teachers who are true, Under whose great guidance we have learned our rule, Now our work is done and our goal is won Our hearts toithee we raise in parting song, Graduation day is here our fun is past, Teachers, classes, books, the halls we've passed so long To our fun, our songs, and games we say goodbye, Farewell to you, Saint Clair High. 45 1 ! When nobody's paid his subscription, and the publisher wants cash in advance, When your contract reads Forty-six hundred, and the business staff says, Not a chance. When the seniors find grinds are a nuisance, and decide not to write any more--- My advice is--pray, don't be downhearted, Just remember its happened before. So demand all your copy by August, and all of your pictures by fall, and if you don't get them till April, Why, be thankful you got them at all.
