4aaew We are living in a troubled world. Although World Peace is greatly impeded and delayed, the United Nations is struggling, with faith and hope in mankind unshaken, that eventually, good will among all countries will prevail. As a step toward the achievement of this goal, a American generosity is unsurpassed. We are pouring our wealth into destitute nations to guarantee their survival-physically, econ- omically, and politically. At the same time we are offering within our shores, refuge to thousands of European displaced persons whose plight is desperate. Can cold war or the iron curtain of Russia long endure against the hope of the world? But we also must look homeward. Internationally mag- nanimcus, America must solve, for her own people, tremendous problems in order to secure a better way of life. .If we would safeguard our Democracy, we must suppress the insidious spread of Communism. The equalization of educational oppor- tunity, the cooperation of capital and labor, the prevention of crime, the eradication of disease, and the security of the aged are some of the responsibilities which our students, as good citizens, must assume in the near future, if we would be sure that Victory Is Ours Forever.
