St. CHARLES CHEERLEADERS The St. Charles Crusaders were led to 2nd place in the league by the support of the St. Charles Cheerleaders. Like the boys, the girls did a wonderful job in putting the spirit of our school at it's highest point. The squad was made up of 17 junior high girls and 3 mascots. The mascots were Julie Mulrenan and Kim Coakley, both of the 4th grade, and Cheryl Chamberlain, who is in the 3rd grade. Part of the squad was made up of a captain, and 2 co-captains. The captain was Ellen Mulrenan, and the 2 co-captains were Christina Ganley and Tina Wing. The following girls made up the squad, Debbie Chamberlain, Michele Costa, and Kim Paste from the 8th grade. Kerri Boback, Candy Coakley, Susannah Collins, Roselyn Tayag, Jennifer McCor- mick and Kathy Walsh from the 7th grade. And last but not least the 9th grade, who were in there last year cheering at St. Charles, were Nancy Spolidoro, Dianne Dewar, Kathy Spinale, Linda Steeves and Erin McDonough. The girls worked very hard and diligently during the days leading up to the competition. It payed off, though, because we came in lst place in the cheering competition, where we com- peted against 4 other squads. We didn't work by ourselves, though, we had the enthusiasm of the students of St. Charles, and teachers who built up our confidence to put us on the top! We had the help of our advisor, Mrs. LaBillois, who has helped us greatly for the past 4 years. Mrs. LaBillois's assistant was Maureen Mulrenan, who cheered at St. Charles for 2 years, then coached the girls for 2 years. The girls who cheered for 3 years were Tina, Ellen, Nancy and Linda. For 2 years were Dianne, Erin, Debbie, and Michele, and for 1 year were Kathy, Kim, Kerri, Candy, Susan- nah, Kathy W., Jennifer, Christine and Rose. Thanks for a great year girls! 30
