THE CR USADERS The St. Charles Crusaders had a great year, with a 10-5 record. The captains, Ray Polito and Kevin Meaney, led the team through the season. Eddie Hatch, Joe McCool, Matt Staffier and Steven Shaunessy showed strong ability and dedication where it was needed. Jon Palermo, David Palmer, Jimmy Galipeau, John Claffy and Dave McCool showed great promise for the next year's team, and to them we wish the best of luck. During the season, the team proved to be a strong team, losing games by narrow margins. The team proved to be an exciting one by winning most of the games that were needed to be won. The playoffs came around and we played Bishop Cheverus first, We won 31-30 with Kevin Meaney scoring the winning foul shot. We then went on to play St. Raphael's. At the final seconds of the game a technical given to the opposing team gave us a chance. Ray Polito swished the technical in to send the game into overtime. Unfortunately the team lost, thus winning 2nd place in the playoffs, but it was an exciting game and an exciting year. 28
