- SPECIAL EVENTS - Early in the year the 7th, 8th and 9th grades visited the J Library in Boston. Unlike most libraries, the J .F.K. Center is a resource library where you can find excellent informa- tion about our former President, John F. Kennedy, in films, documents and pictures. We found it to be a very interesting and fun learning experience. I'm looking forward to my next trip to their marvelous research center of American History. IntraMurals For the first time St. Charles held intramurals between the 7th, 8th and 9th grades. In the first game players from 7A and 7B entered the court with 7A in the end as the winners. Then came 8A and 8B with 8B as the winners, 8B versus the 9th grade with a victorious 9th grade. Finally, the grand finale - 7A versus 9th grade from which the 9th grade came out number one. They were awarded a trophy which they keep in their homeroom and I'm sure they are very proud of this award. I hope that intramurals in St. Charles will become an annual event. Engineers This year the Junior High was visited by an engineer who worked for the telephone company. The purpose of her visit was to broaden our alternatives in choosing a career. She explained some of the things she does and enjoys doing in her work. A film was shown about the different types of engineering and what has been done up to date in this field. Maybe someone will choose this direction for his! her future. All-in-all I feel it was a worthwhile program. Bonnie Lacerda 9
