Powder Keg keeps STC rockin', rollin' and more t ,pull gif wx ---an-nil With the move of the high school across town, students were no longer able to hang around Keg during their lunch hour. The lost time, however, was made up on weekends, when once again the Keg sponsored after game dances. Dancing to the tunes of bands like Streakin' Keggers found a good way to dry off after a wet game. This year's Keg officers worked hard on special dances. The can dance, disco dance, and Senior Night were just a few of the special dances held this year at the Keg. The Keg had always been considered a worthwhile organization , but this year, more students came to realize that Keg was also essential to life at STC. rogunr Blizzard burys STC The winter of 1978 was nothing compared to Antarctica, but those who weathered it may tell you differently. Even though Old Man Winter was replaced by the far gentler productions of spring, everyone was still talking about the snow. Winter, which officially ended its three month engagement March 20, produced plenty of statistics, but not too much popularity. There were days when the snow drifts casued confusion in the streets, and school was called off for three days because the busses couldn't run. On December 8, the first major storm dropped nearly eight inches of snow and left 200 schools closed, while zero temperatures numbed the city. The heaviest snowfall came in the early hours on Christmas Day, giving us the White Christmas many dreamed of. But the rest of the winter was something no one ever dreamed of. Sixty-one more inches of snow fell on the city bringing the winter's total to 81.4 inches, 42.1 inches above the normal snowfall amount. No one is crying because the winter of '77-'78 is over. We made it through, but no one is quite sure how. Don Husby .
