,l0IUl1I' Lack of parking space creates problems at STC My parents are going to let me drive to school next week! Now, if only I can get a parking permit . . . Sound familiar? To most STC students, owning a parking permit was only a dream. The moving of the high school across town created many problems, one of which was the lack of parking spaces. At the beginning of the year, only students in co-op, with a few exceptions, were issued parking permits. While some students solved the problem by riding with friends, others drove to school anyway, hoping that they wouldnlt check for permits that day. But the remainder of students solved the problem by riding the f'popular big, yellow school busses to school every day. Caution: habit-forming Warning: reading novels may be habit-forming. As many STC romantic-novel junkies know, this warning should've appeared on all of these books to warn the reader of its dangers. Once you read one book, there was nothing to stop you from reading more, and more. You found yourself going to Grimm's after work on pay-days, spending hours in aisle 4 examining the many best-sellers for that week. Love's Tender Fury, This Loving Torment, Dare to Love -the titles assaulted the senses, but the novel junkie loved it, and tried hopelessly to decide which book to buy this week. Even though some of the books were a little racey, they still sold like hotcakes. The halls at STC were filled with talk about the books. Did you finish 'Wicked Loving Lies' yet? l just knew they'd get married at the end. . They were all alike. Guy meets girl -they hate each other, and then the hate turns to love. You knew how the story would end, but it was still fun to read the book. Although there wasn't a known cure for the novel-reading addicts, most of the sufferers found it best to indulge in their habit, until they could finally get it out of their systems.

School can be iun. . . Classes. It had never been a popular word at STC, or any other high school for that matter. It rated way up there with other words like studying, homework and learning. But as juniors, students had a chance to take more electives, which made their classes a little better, since they were taking fun classes they picked themselves. Co-Op was offered to juniors, and many students took the opportunity to work at their jobs during school hours. Business Law was another popular elective this year. Business Law students held mock trials which enabled them to see how trials are run, and to actually participate themselves. Whether it was algebra, chemistry, art, or music, electives at STC made junior schedules a little bit easier to cope with, and possibly even made school fun for a change.
