Each morning starts out with a sunrise, a sunrise filled with new hopes for new days and new beginnings. Along with the first bell at 7:40 a.m. students were faced with scattered classrooms among long, carpeted, locker-lined halls. Once you and your locker partner found your noi 1,5 I locker lprovided you could find your locker partnerj, it took both of you to lift the stiff lock handles. As the sun rises higher, the beams of light enfold one of the first solar-powered high schools, the completed Cultural Arts Center, the swimming classes at the Norris Rec Center, the origin of co-ed gym classes, and a structure housing only a small amount ' of windows. The three-basketball-court gymnasium was finished late in October, shortly before the grand opening of the Flesource Center. The Commons became a star attraction before school and a casual breakfast and lunch room.
