uewusarg New year, new fads Once again the leading fashion style was blue jeans, but then aren't they always? Cowl necks, dressy scarves, silk dresses and blouses with bows, three piece pant suits, and crazy socks were a few of the parts put together to come up with the dressier outfits that were popular this year. Stick pins and hair combs became essential, and everyone who was someone owned a brightly colored ski jacket, or STC coat. Corduroy and blue jean Levi's topped by nice sweaters could be seen on the guys and even they were a bit dressier to match the class set by the new school. Big key chains with at least four smaller ones attached held keys to various cars: Mustang lI's, Cameros, Thunderbirds, and Bombers to name a few. A cross section of these cars could be found parked at parties that were held at least one weekend night, if not two. Open house parties were attended basically by large groups of friends. uauiusaig Lockers: the reflection of your personality At the end of the day, students dash from their own lockers to those of their friends. The locker is a very social area, especially before and after school. A freshman locker isn't as tall or wide as the other lockers in the school, so fewer lockers are decorated with pictures, slogans, posters or knicknacks. A few people still managed to squeeze in such items as this area is a toadal mess written on the picture of a frog, or a little poster of a globe with the saying, Wouldn't it be fun to stop the world and watch all the people fall off?! Charlie's Angels, Sylvester Stallone, Peter Frampton, the Boyzz, and Kiss were a few of the popular stars found in lockers this year. A favorite practice among the class of '81 was to put up pictures of their good friends in their lockers, orto put up a photo or two of their latest honey. Around Christmas, the freshmen got into the spirit by hanging up Christmas ornaments and candy canes from the hooks inside their lockers. Seasonal sports' pictures, hockey and basketball being highlighted, and clippings from the Chronicle also found a place hanging in these '77-'78 homes-away-from-home. 'wffe 'my 6
