'Fiddler' starts tradition Nearly 200 people were involved with the premier performance in the new Cultural Arts Center. Following the tradition of All-American musicals, NFiddler on the Roof was a hit with audiences all three nights. The spring musical, under the direction of Mr. Flon Koeppl, opened its three-day run May 4 and nearly packed the auditorium each night. Wayne Wilkinson stole the show with his never out-of-character portrayal of Tevye. Opposite Wayne was Lynn Catchpole playing Golde, Tevyeis wife. Becky Adams' solo ballet performance and the Russian Dance segment were highlights of the choreography. Gail Livingston and Suzanne Heinkel highlighted the 'idream scene and amused the audiences with their comical interpretations of Fruma-Sarah and Grandma Tzeitelf' As the curtain came down on the closing performance, ending almost three months planning and hard work, the audience was caught up in the mood of the final scene. There were tears of sadnesss in the audience and tears of mixed emotions backstage. Afterwards, a cast party was held in the main commons to commemorate a job well done by both performers and director. MW' 4ff t2 fi? V5 fi K 24

Ox l ff ? Prom held in colourful Commons For the very first time, Prom coloured everyonels world in the West Commons and Gym. After much controversy, juniors and seniors agreed on the high school as the Prom site. This enabled couples to have dinner at the place of their choice and also gave them a chance to enjoy the June weather for picnics at places such as the Indiana Dunes and White Pines. Reaction to the numerous pink, yellow, green, and blue streamers hung in the Commons was one of enchantment. Bouquets of flowers were spread around both rooms and romantic candles were placed on the round tables set up to allow couples a chance to relax. Beating an old tradition, two bands, Horizon and f'Dick Eastmanf' provided a variety of music for those dressed in long dresses and tuxes. As the evening drew to a close, Colour My World became another memorable first . . . C. -its R 23
