vp vt il The Valentine Dance was a big success in the eyes of the students at STC. The Valentine Dance is a very special danceg it's when the girls are asking the guys to the dance which also goes along with the paying of the meal and the price of the dance. Reversing the roles is well liked by the guys who don't have to spend money this one dance out of the year. The band was excellent and of course there was a lot of dancing and everyone looked his best. One of the many couples who attended the dance was Kerry Cavanaugh and Jim Yeck lleftl who exchanged smiles asthey think of the enjoyable evening. The Valentine Dance every year seems to get larger and larger, more girls get daring enough to ask the guys and the guys don't feel as self conscious anymore to saying yes. With the exception of a few lovers' quarrels, the night was a big success and will be a year to year traditional dance. 21

Ox l ff ? Prom held in colourful Commons For the very first time, Prom coloured everyonels world in the West Commons and Gym. After much controversy, juniors and seniors agreed on the high school as the Prom site. This enabled couples to have dinner at the place of their choice and also gave them a chance to enjoy the June weather for picnics at places such as the Indiana Dunes and White Pines. Reaction to the numerous pink, yellow, green, and blue streamers hung in the Commons was one of enchantment. Bouquets of flowers were spread around both rooms and romantic candles were placed on the round tables set up to allow couples a chance to relax. Beating an old tradition, two bands, Horizon and f'Dick Eastmanf' provided a variety of music for those dressed in long dresses and tuxes. As the evening drew to a close, Colour My World became another memorable first . . . C. -its R 23
