HALO staff works as one to make our memories last Picas, cropping L's , layout sheets, DEADLINES, and Room 216, all a part of a HALO staff member's life. Putting together a yearbook this year was quite a task with the opening of a new school and all the problems that go with it. Editor-in-Chief Jody Donnelly had a lot of these problems to cope with this year. By the time things finally settled, the HALO staff had things well under way. The theme of Beginnings was well chosen in a year that brought new beginnings to all of us. One of the new aspects of the book this year was the fact that it was 240 pages, the largest yearbook ever at STC. Along with one of the largest books comes an extremely large staff of 35 people. With that many people there were bound to be problems and of course there were. The biggest of these problems were the photographers and all the mix-ups on where they were supposed to be as well as when. A few times no one on the staff covered an event and we ended up hunting down someone who had been seen taking pictures there. There were lost negatives that were never found until just before the deadline or right afterthey had been retaken, and of course there was the usual Deadline Madness' when many staff members could be M '-ws found staying up into the early hours of the morning on the day before the deadline, frantically trying to finish their spreads. Despite all of these problems, the final deadline was made and on June 17, 1978, the book was finally on its way to the publishers, and the staff's part was done, for this year.
