Career help offered by three STC clubs FFA lFuture Farmers of Americaj, involves a 4-year agricultural program at the high school and a club with members up to 21 years old. What makes the FFA members want to stay involved after they're out of high school? FFA is a very strong national organization. For the very first time, the group tested corn plots this year. Presently, the Chamber of Commerce invited them to a dinner where they received a number of plaques. In order to better their program, Advisor William Marshall is hoping to install a greenhouse at the high school. Wide horizons in agriculture and veterinary medicine are spread out for the FFA members after they're finished with high school. Co-op students learn and work Over 200 students participated in the co-operative education program fco-opj this year. According to Mr. Bernie Looney, co-op advisor, students who participate in this program are given a head start in the world of work. Members must also belong to one of the three related co-op clubs, the Vocational industrial Clubs of America TVICAJ, the Distributive Education Clubs of America QDECAQ, or the Office Education Association QOEAQ. These clubs are not only on the local level, they are part of state and national organizations. VICA was the largest club this year, having 125 members. The highlight of the year was the employer appreciation banquet held at the Gaslight Manor in Aurora. Students sold over 312,000 in oranges and grapefruits earlier in the year to pay for it.
