2 A i f i f , ' :ff f i s 9 rf V, its 6' 4352 . t i 'Q ' Colorful dresses, three piece suits, a good band and lots of smiles all marked the night of the Homecoming Dance. Tradition was carried through once more with flowers, boutineers, parties and also an evening of dining before or after the dance. A few of the favorite places to eat were The Terrace, Fisherman's Inn, The Viking and The Back Door. Some things were new this year at the dance. For the first time the freshman class was invited to attend. Steve Chapman received the honor of crowning this year's Queen, Kim Miller lfar upper righty. After the coronation was, of course, the Queens dance flefty. Kathy Fahey, Qabove lefty Gary Gargano and Kim Polly Qfar lower lefty dance to the music by Max. The band had a good sound and a steady beat and got many of the dancers rowdy and clapping to some of their songs. Max played few slow songs, but the ones they did were readily accepted, as shown by Caroline Woidat and Todd Moffett lfar upper lefty and Sue lng and Jeff Hampton fabovey. The whole evening was, for most, pretty enjoyable as shown on the faces of Kim Labuka and Tim Martin lfar lower righty. lt was most definitely the highlight of Homecoming week, and for many, it won't be forgotten. In St. Charles, winter must be the longest time of the yearg it seems to extend from November until late April - even longer some days! The colder the weather was in the morning, the longer the bus took to get to your stop, or the farther away from school your parking place became. Winter was more than just freezing weather, winter meant four snow days and many more inches of snow than necessary for those that ski, snowmobile, and ice skate. Mother Nature and her storms didn't prevent anyone from going to hockey games, or watching the STC wrestlers beat Dekalb after 13 years, or cheering at the basketball games and the exciting tournaments! McDonalds was always crowded on the weekends, and the more parties that people threw, the more that were attended.
