Tunes rock at STC STC students found themselves rocking to the beat of the Pep Band. Led by Mr. Jeff Childs, the band filled the gym with music during basketball games and pep assemblies. Afterthe roar of the crowd quieted when sporting events were over, serious-minded musicians joined Jazz Band I, better known as The Jazz Workshop. The workshop entertained students during lunch hours with their award-winning music. Behind Jazz Band l was Jazz Band ll, who practiced weekly in this, their first year of existence at STC. ln the climax of their performances, Jazz Band ll warmed up the audience forthe Jazz Workshop with Songs like Clean It Up, and l've Been Searchin' So Long . The highlight of the concert was a dual solo by drummer, Todd Moffett, and saxophonist, Steve Darflinger, during the song Fox Fire. Vocalists for the Workshop were Mary Angerer and Dave Hunt, while Jill Childs and .Jane Wray sang for Jazz Band ll. Both of the Jazz Bands were under the direction of Jeff Childs.
