if Coach Trent Richards saw his varsity, junior varsity, and sophomore runners each turn in remarkable seasons for the 1977 campaign. The Saints' varsity squad finished with a 9-3 dual record, while finishing first in the Kane County meet, second in the Upstate Eight Conference meet, first in the Plainfield Invitational, third in the Dixon Invitational, fourth in the district meet, and finally sixth in the sectional meet. St. Charles' sophomores, meanwhile, completed the season with a 9-3 dual mark, a 5-0 first-place finish, and a second-place showing at the Kane County meet. The JV runners ended up with a UEC title and a second-place finish at the Kane County meet. Jeff Wheaton was named the Saints' most valuable varsity runner, while Evan Clarrissimeaux received most valuable from the sophomore squad. Wheaton finished fourth out of the pack in the UEC meet, with Doug Jones right behind in fifth place. Jones had a spectacular ninth-place showing at the district meet. 9.
