homecomingfhom'-kum'-ing! According to Websters dictionary, the definition of homecoming is the return of a group to a place formerly frequented, especially on a special occasion. This definition was especially appropriate for STC since we moved to the new high school and we returned to our old football stadium, Reid Field, to play the Homecoming game. The group of students on class floats, or club cars, in Marching Band, drill team, Flag Rank, the twirlers, clowns, cheerleaders, Pep Club, and other participants in the Homecoming parade were possibly only outnumbered by the large crowd watching the walk down Main Street. Limited parking, closed campus, the increase in suspensions, and the return of detentions upset many students to the point of causing a student walk-out. Assistant Principal Mr. J. Bannon talked to students during the walk-out flower leftj trying to get them to return to classes, but eventually over 100 of the participants were suspended. Jammed lockers, lack of windows, bulletin boards, and all the other changes which took place did little to alter many students' lackadaisical attitude displayed in study hall in the west commons by senior Dee Dorney fbelowj. 37 11
