U. of I. - I '-'uv Students at STC had yet another change to adjust to this year - P.E. classes shared with members of the opposite sex. Girls were introduced to calisthenics for the first time. ln the Co-ed classes, everyone was expected to do push-ups, burpies, belly slappers. Integrated swimming classes often brought embarrassment to the girls who were forced to wear one of those swimming suits in front of the guys. While the girls' swimming uniforms were not ignored by the males in the classes, the feeling they seemed to have had about swimming with the girls fin suitsll could only be described as farfrom embarrassing. STC students faced many changes and a few awkward situations with the newly-founded program, but the boys seemed to suffer the most - at least they seemed to complain the loudest. With girls now in P.E., they could no longer play the contact sports they had previously enjoyed, such as football and wrestling. However, for both the girls and guys the competition was drastically different from what they had been used to.
