Y -.Ni:.. lt's either four wheelin' or no wheelin' commented Senior Scott Horton, whose attitude was shared by many STC students who considered theirfour wheel drive trucks 4FWD'sl a major essence of life. Four wheelin', as it was typically known, consisted of a group of guys going out in their FWD's and trying to conquer the hills, curves, creeks, and jumps that stood in their way. Spring was a favorite time to go because four wheelers felt the more mud they could get on their trucks, the better it looked. Senior Mark Mehalic attested to that fact when he said, When I hearthe call of the wild, I have to go four wheelin I love mudf' The Windings, the Far Forty, and the quarry were among the favorite places to go four wheelin': But open fields or a muddy clay satisfied many four wheelers. Senior Tom Read simply said, I love field hopping. Four wheelers drove their FWD vehicles to school and wore John Deere type farmer hats at all times.
