For the first year, dance and game tickets, STC jackets, candy canes for Candy Cane Day, and yearbooks could be found in the booth marked Student Activities. lt was sometimes quicker to take an outside route to a class and the wind tunnel provided a breath offresh air. Parking lots were jammed full and parking permits were a luxury well-cherished, along with a final 2:00 bell. The Jazz Band Iivened up the Commons one lunch hour, and they added a lot of spirit to all the assemblies. Although we've only just begun, it looks like we made it!

Homecoming was a very wet affair, and the weather changed the tradition of having the queen crowned at the game. The Keg was the scene of Sadie Hawkins, and for the first time there were no honeymoons among the hay for those hitched by Marryin' Sam. Couples weren't disappointed for long because Christmas Formal at Pheasant Run provided a chance to stroll down Bourbon St. for a breath of fresh air. The Dick Eastman Band played for those attending the Christmas dance, but also had a spotlight at the Prom. Dick Eastman was joined by Horizon when the bands performed in the West Commons, the unique setting for the special evening of June 3. Along with those starring in the musical Fiddler On The Roof , we started our own traditions . . . 'Yu
