Freshman through senior- everyone enjoyed Saturday Night Fever, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. But there was one difference between the underclassmen and the upperclassmen - transportation. Cars enabled the upperclassmen to travel the few miles out route 64 to the Cascade Outdoor Theater. On Friday and Saturday nights when there wasn't Keg or any parties to go to, the Cascade was a good place to find STC students. Everyone usually went together to the theater, and usually parked near each other, too. There was the normal running back and forth between cars, turning on and off of headlights, and other teenage rowdiness. And no movie is complete without popcorn and something to drink. Of course, there is a refreshment stand at the Cascade, but most kids preferred to bring their own refreshments to the movie. The drive-in was a fun part of STC and many underclassmen look forward to the fun to come next year. ,G-9 Harney

That guy is so short. . .fhow short is he?J he's so short, that he has to stand on his toes just to put on his hat! To many people at STC, the above joke was far from funny. These people make up the population of the school known as the short people. Randy Newman's popular song, Short People brought many laughs to STC, and it also started a 'short people' craze in St. Charles. Whenever a not-so-tall person would walk by, shouts of, Short people got no reason to live! would be heard throughout the halls. But it was all done in fun. Saints 'rock' at concerts The lights dimmed. A sudden hush came over the crowd. A voice, seemingly out of nowhere, was heard. Ladies and gentlemen . . . CHICAGO! To many STC students this experience was a reality. Concerts at the Chicago Stadium or Alpine Valley in Wisconsin, were visited frequently by St. Charles music fans. Chicago, Foghat, Genesis, Bob Seeger, and Ted Nugent were just a few of the groups that played in Chicago this year. Eric Clapton was another star that played in Chicago in 1978. His new album, Slow Hand had just come out, and he was in Chicago on tour promoting it. Most students who saw Clapton in concert really enjoyed it, and rated it as, excellent Transportation once again proved to be a problem for the sophomore and freshman music fans. But, older brothers and sisters and older friends helped in solving the problem. Everyone was able to enjoy the excitement and fun of going to a live concert. . Lf. - Y .. ,. f I ID fig?
