EAVE REVIEW WHERE, O WHERE, ARE THE VERDANT FRESHMENT' Here we are at last, part of Saint Cecilia High. And what a wonderful year was in store for us!! We saw our first play as members of Saints. the SONG OF BERNADETTE. We thrilled to the splendor of our very own Fresh- man Prom amid bowers of leaves, and our first formals added 'to this excite- ment. We followed the performance of our Frosh Basketball team with great interest, watched it win quite a few games and saw it receive a bid to the Invitation Tournament. Our rooting intensified and was not in vain, for we won the tournament!! Class night put a happy end to our freshman year. SAFE, SAFE IN THE SOPH'MORE CLASS Sophs! Gosh, one whole year gone by, and so fast, too! The football sea- son ended in great hub-bub and clamor. for we trounced our rivals, D.M.H.S., to the tune of 27-0! ! ! Because of this the Victory Dance really was a VICTORY Dance. Our play this year was LITTLE WOMEN. It was tops. The Harvestt Hop was our dance, and it was a wonderful success. We sympathized on Class Night with the green freshies, who wore the same green-paper bows and ties that we wore the year' before. THEY'VE GONE OUT FROM THEIR WARS WITH CAESAR. And what a relief it was to leave Caesar, too. We welcomed three new teachers to Saints-Sister Mary Veronica. Mrs. McAvoy, and Miss Chenal. The Varsity Basketball team came close to winning the Tournament, and we had the highest scorer-Richie Batt. Stage-Door was the play-of-the-year at Saints. Our outing to Iones's Beach was lots of fun, even though it was a bit chilly. Thus ended our Iunior year and we began a happy Senior year. WHERE, O WHERE, ARE THE DEAR OLD SENIORS? B Upperclassmen at last! It took three years of hard work to gett here, but it was worth it. Our last play at Saints was the Broadway musical sensation, Briqadoon, with Ieanne Reynolds, Hank Greer, and George Boyle as fthe leads in the Senior cast. The coverted scepters of Football King and Queen fell to Lorna Duncanson and Ioe Doto, by popular demand. The annual Christmas Pageant under the ingenious direction of Sister Mary Elena became lovely tableaux depicting the scenes of the Nativity. Our famous Schola Cantorum had the thrill of giving a concert at Carnegie Hall in Ianuary. The Christmas outing to Bear Mountain was loads of fun despite the rain and slush. We shall never forget our last retreatt, preached by the Reverend Clarence Seidel, C.S.S.R. The Annual Sports Dinner was a great success, with movies of the Army football games, including the wanderful Army-Navy game. The Senior Prom, our big night, was held in May. Now as we sadly come to the finish of our final year at our beloved Saints, we also end our history with the words, We've gone out from our Alma Mater, lost, lost, in the cold. cold world. 59 llafllvvft ' t S i , f as xi lt WYIO pg rf
