FOOTBALL REVIEW Although it was a year plagued by injuries and bad luck, the Blue Hawks missed tying, by one game, the school record for Most Games Won in a Seascn. The final sum- mary Was Wins-6, Losses-4. Highlights of the season were the clobbering of St. Bonaventure, 32- 65 a n d Meisy's four-touchdown stampede against Sacred Heart. Paul Messing, our bruising tackler, received honorable mention for the all-state Class C team. BASKETBALL ROUNDUP! The l958-59 basketball squad, coached by lim Biglin, came through with another fine season. A lot of big things happened this year: the Winning of the Catholic Tournament, loss of our first game in our own gym in three years, sec- ond straight year of going to State, and Bill Meisenbach's selection for All-State Class C. This was the third straight year a St. Cecilia player earned this coveted honor. , Our biggest victories of the year were the beating of David City, St. Mary's in the Diocesan finalsg the revenge against Harvard in the dis- trict finalsg and the blasting of Alma in the -playoff for the State berth. From the varsity team that finished the season only four will graduate.
