5' R. JOHN de ROSEN is an internationally known artist and student of iconography. His father was Court painter to Alexander III and Nicholas Il. ln California, besides the mosaics and murals done at St, Catherines campus chapel, he has designed other artistic pieces at St. Dominic's, Eagle Rockg St. Am- brose and Finbar's, Hollywooclg St. Philips, Pasadena and at the seminary of the Sacramento diocese. Mr. de Rosen has received the Golden Laurel of the Polish Academy of Literature and a Special Cita- tion of the Architectural League of the United States. He occupied the chair of Research Professor of Liturgi- cal Art at the Catholic University of America for ten years. He has designed a four thousand square foot mosaic for the National Shrine ofthe Immaculate Con- ception in Washington, D.C. and also worked in the Episcopal Cathedral of SS.
