In Appreciation St. Catherine's Military School is grateful to all of its parents, friends and cadets, especially to those who are at present serving in its Parents' Guild, and on the Iubilee and Yearbook Committees, to its Alumni, Ad- vertisers, Benefactors, Patrons and Donors who in the interest of its 75th Anniversary have sponsored this Iubilee Book. Special mention should be made of Mr. Robert Kretschmar, Guild president, for his wise direction and constant encouragement, and to Mr. William Hoerner, Guild Vice-president and fund-raising chairman, for his efficient organization and energetic persistence in bringing this Iubilee Yearbook to completion. Recog- nition should also be given to Mr. Ernest Schworck, photographer and to the other members of the editorial and production staff. The Sisters have always been and are now deeply aware and genuinely appreciative of the numerous ef- forts of their many lay friends who through the years have given their time, money, and varied talents to the success and continued growth of this Dominican School. In a larger sense we are all benefactors of those who preceded us in all walks of life and in all ages of man. They left for each of us a rich heritage both of wealth and wisdom. VVe build on the blessed foundations they have laid. For shouldering with compassion the many tasks of the school, whether through labor, capital, or prayer, the Sisters of St. Catherine's are forever grateful for your generous gifts. May God bless you. Sister M. Amabilis, O. P. Prioress St. Catherine's Parents Guild The Parents' Guild is a special group that enthusias- tically shoulders many school projects including this book. Chapel Christmas Cards To disseminate the art and spirit of the St. Thomas Chapel, the school chooses one theme each year for its Christmas card. In 1962 the Burst of Creation window was used as the motif and in 1963, the statue of St. Thomas. These uniquely beautiful religious cards are created through the combined talents of Sister Amabilis, Don May and the fine craftsmanship of dedicated engravers and printers. The message of one, Oh Happy Fault that Merited so Great a Redeemer is praphrased from THE PAIN OF CHRIST by Gerald Vann, O. P. The Adam and Eve portion of the Burst of Creation window is en- larged to show that without this blessed fault in the Garden of Paradise, God need not have sent Christ to earth to save men and, therefore, there would have been no Christmas. The message of the other is paraphrased from the SUMMA THEOLOGICA, God's Christmas Gift to Men . . . A Mediator . . . . It portrays graphically by word and linear perspective the uniting of Man to God through Christ. These truly inspirational cards live from year to year recalling to rnan the real meaning of Christ's Birth. They are available to parents and friends at the school office.
