Dear Sister Amabilis: On this happy occasion, the Diamond Iubilee of our Congregations first foundation in Southem Cali- fornia, we offer you and your devoted community heartfelt congratulations. A jubilee is quite properly a time for reminiscing. As we look back with you over 75 years, we rejoice in the loving Providence VVhich guided St. Catherine through changing patterns of service to youth to its present splendid development. Originally an academy for girls, then an orphanage, now a military school for boys, St. Catherine witnesses to the wisdom of past administrations who, yielding to the designs of Providence, recognized in the pressures of the time, made decisions which resulted in a school we acclaim today, May 2, 1964. With you, we pay grateful tribute to the Sisters, priests, military personnel, and lay staff whose dedi- cated collaboration over the years has won for St. Catherine its chief glory, an enviable record of dis- tinguished service to youth. Impressive, indeed, is its campus with Saint Thomas Aquinas Chapel as its center and core, but no beauty of stone, glass, or metal can equal the artistry involved in the making of a person. To this high art-the molding of Christian men-Saint Catherine Military School stands com- mitted.
